FlightDream
Dance-poetry Event
Maria
Mar dances a poem in which an archetypal woman searches for her dream and
tries to make it come true, but is sabotaged by her fears and habits.
Shaman, poet and
facilitator Corazon Tierra addresses the women during key moments of the
dance-poetry, helping them recognize themselves throughout the story.
The poem takes a
twist as the character makes different choices, generating a different
rhythm that moves the poem into a powerful, joyful tempo.
The
participating women engage in a closing ritual to release their fears or
habits and adopt a new stance.

"The FlightDream
performance was a deeply healing experience for me, as it gave me an
opportunity to see in the performance the patterns and behaviors that
prevent me from living powerfully and I believe prevent a lot of women
from living powerfully."
