Maria Mar has officiated ceremonial events in Mexico, South Africa, Puerto Rico and the United States. Through the compelling power of her words and presence she has used poetry, storytelling, performance and inspirational speech to charge an event with inspirational vibrancy, nourish social change, open celebrations and conduct Rites of Passage for women, minorities, families and youth.

She connects well to Latin American and multi-cultural audiences, and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Honoring and healing the Earth is a love Maria Mar carries in her Poetry Events, such as The Tao of Trees, an audio-visual poetry meditation that connects people to trees at a deep level. She has also celebrated her Ecodances and Ecopoems in natural settings. In these celebrations, Maria enters a deep trance using dance, music, storytelling and poetry. She then opens a channel between the people and Earth Consciousness. The participants dance, recite, play and share the images, memories and stories they are receiving or have received from the environment.

Maria has participated nationally and internationally in events promoting diversity and demanding an end to violence in the family and against women. She is a Peacekeeper at the personal, family, community and international levels As such, she ran the Dialogue of Peace for two years after 9-11, supporting people in the USA and internationally through her articles, meditations and poems and facilitating a dialogue to promote Inner Peace and World peace. During those years, Maria Mar dedicated many of her weekly hours to support thousands of people in their grief, fear and emotional needs.

Maria Mar, the Dream Alchemist, is one of the world’s foremost experts in female wisdom-based personal growth. As an artist and shaman, she has helped thousands of women in three continents to move towards their Personal Dreams. As such, she is known as the Dream Alchemist.

In her presence, as well as in each event or speech she presents, Maria Mar summons women, as well as all participants, to their Personal Power.

This is true in her poetry presentations, Female Leadership Lecture Series, or her storytelling series based on her novel. Maria Mar's trademark is connecting to the people.

Like the ancestral shamans, Maria Mar dances, performs, speaks and writes as a ceremony of community and personal transformation. Maria Mar's live performances, featured in PBS, Channel 13, are community ceremonies where the spectators become SpectActors in ceremonies of healing, transformation and empowerment. Her Theatre of Transformation methodology, at the core of her interactive art, was featured in Puro Teatro: a Latina Anthology, published by the University of Arizona Press.
