Brief Biography

Maria Mar, the Dream Alchemist, is known nationally and internationally as a poet-ambassador of soulful living. Descending from a grandmother who burned her poems to toughen up and survive and who in turn prohibited her daughter, Maria's mother, from pursuing a theatrical career, The Dream Alchemist sets up to heal the war between money and creativity, self-loyalty and belonging by empowering audiences to marry prosperity and creativity. She brings to light the Female Face of Power in order to balance the aggressive pursuit of success with a passion for values, uniqueness, soulfulness and self-loyalty.

A remarkable Renaissance woman who is a published author, performer, visual artist, shaman, spiritual teacher and life coach, Maria Mar uses the power of the word, image and movement to inspire, motivate, heal and empower audiences. Her poetry lends itself for inspirational opening ceremonies, rites of passage, consciousness raising, educational settings and special events.

PBS-featured Maria Mar is a master improvisational actress who has more than 20 years of experiencing engaging audiences in interactive events. She goes smoothly from inspirational speech to empowering presentation to interactive and experiential modality. Her more than 10 years teaching creative writing and art in the public school system combined with her more than 20 years empowering women of all walks of life in more than three continents, including homeless shelters and college environments, makes Maria Mar an ideal speaker for audiences of youth and women.

Disappearing in the embrace of Earth and Sky.

A tiny sparkle fusing with infinite light.
